7:03 am - The book
urantiaman
Once in 1977 I was wishing so hard for something enlightening after having read so many books on spirituality and wisdom. Those book at that time, included the Bhagavad- gita(Emerson's favorite), The Aquarian Gospel of Jesus the Christ, The Essene gospel of Peace, of course the bible, and many others which included the writings of Joseph Campbell (Lucas guru) Allan Watts, US Anderson, Carlos Castaneda, and many others including Budhas Books and Indian ancient scriptures...many other titles were included after that year, but before that, I came across the Urantia Book. My wish was, to be able to know how this Universe is arranged ( yes, very strange wish) where we could know exactly how it all falls in place how it all fits together...words and wishes have  power.indeed; my wish came true when I found the Urantia Book .At 27, It was the best gift I could receive and , now at 57.I appreciate it even more.

2:32 pm - Revolution!

xreddestinyx
I decided that I want to get the world thinking, so I made this:

-------

Philosophical revolution!

Do you contemplate the fact that you will die one day?
Do you realize that you are a living being who is conscious in the world?
Do you acknowledge that this all had to come to be before it was?
Do you realize that we went from living in caves to building cities and technology?
Do you ever wonder where all of this came from?
Do you ever think of yourself as a unique entity?
Do you ever think that your body is made of matter, and that matter cannot be owned?
Do you realize that, outside your sphere, there’s a whole universe?
Do you ever wonder what created God?
Do you ever wonder what all this means, and what is really going on here?
Do you question the religion or science you believe in?
Do you realize that this world is just one huge question?
Do you ever try to find answers to it?

If you answer no to any of these, time to start thinking. If you answer yes to any of these, or if this compelled you in any way, follow these instructions:

If found online:
Post it in your online journal, on your website, or on boards. E-mail it to anyone you think would benefit from it. Print it out and mail it to friends, pass it out like a flyer, leave it on peoples cars, or hang it up where it will be seen. Do whatever you see fit, just make sure that it gets out there.

If found in paper form:
Photocopy it and follow the above instructions for passing it.

However you pass this on, make sure that you leave the instructions intact so that others can do so as well. Let’s get the world on it’s feet and using it’s mind!

-------

The area between the rows of minus signs is what you pass on, incase you were wondering.

MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS:

The time is NOW! We must evolve!

We must unite together as ONE to unfold our Father's universal plan. May we be guided by the Spirit in ETERNAL LOVE, GRACE, and FORGIVENESS. May the Light of Life within us combine to manifest a radiant beam of LOVE that shines brighter than the sun, projecting from the Earth for all the universes among universes to see and become aware of our evolution. COME NOW! Let us start a revolution based on the revelation of our Father's ETERNAL LOVE, and you unite ALL beings in universal TRUTH.

Remember to love ALWAY, for one can know nothing before one knows love. All true knowledge is rooted in Eternal love, for before there was knowledge...

ETERNAL LOVE IS!

May all of my brothers and sisters be in peace and love.

Breathe. Listen. Love

2:04 am - prayer

urantian
Jesus gave this lesson one afternoon in the third week of their sojourn on Mount Gilboa.

2. THE DISCOURSE ON PRAYER

"John indeed taught you a simple form of prayer: 'O Father, cleanse us from sin, show us your glory, reveal your love, and let your spirit sanctify our hearts forevermore, Amen!' He taught this prayer that you might have something to teach the multitude. He did not intend that you should use such a set and formal petition as the expression of your own souls in prayer.

"Prayer is entirely a personal and spontaneous expression of the attitude of the soul toward the spirit; prayer should be the communion of sonship and the expression of fellowship. Prayer, when indited by the spirit, leads to co-operative spiritual progress. The ideal prayer is a form of spiritual communion which leads to intelligent worship. True praying is the sincere attitude of reaching heavenward for the attainment of your ideals.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Page 1619
------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Prayer is the breath of the soul and should lead you to be persistent in your attempt to ascertain the Father's will. If any one of you has a neighbor, and you go to him at midnight and say: `Friend, lend me three loaves, for a friend of mine on a journey has come to see me, and I have nothing to set before him'; and if your neighbor answers, `Trouble me not, for the door is now shut and the children and I are in bed; therefore I cannot rise and give you bread,' you will persist, explaining that your friend hungers, and that you have no food to offer him. I say to you, though your neighbor will not rise and give you bread because he is your friend, yet because of your importunity he will get up and give you as many loaves as you need. If, then, persistence will win favors even from mortal man, how much more will your persistence in the spirit win the bread of life for you from the willing hands of the Father in heaven. Again I say to you: Ask and it shall be given you; seek and you shall find; knock and it shall be opened to you. For every one who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks the door of salvation will be opened.

"Which of you who is a father, if his son asks unwisely, would hesitate to give in accordance with parental wisdom rather than in the terms of the son's faulty petition? If the child needs a loaf, will you give him a stone just because he unwisely asks for it? If your son needs a fish, will you give him a watersnake just because it may chance to come up in the net with the fish and the child foolishly asks for the serpent? If you, then, being mortal and finite, know how to answer prayer and give good and appropriate gifts to your children, how much more shall your heavenly Father give the spirit and many additional blessings to those who ask him? Men ought always to pray and not become discouraged.

"Let me tell you the story of a certain judge who lived in a wicked city. This judge feared not God nor had respect for man. Now there was a needy widow in that city who came repeatedly to this unjust judge, saying, `Protect me from my adversary.' For some time he would not give ear to her, but presently he said to himself: `Though I fear not God nor have regard for man, yet because this widow ceases not to trouble me, I will vindicate her lest she wear me out by her continual coming.' These stories I tell you to encourage you to persist in praying and not to intimate that your petitions will change the just and righteous Father above. Your persistence, however, is not to win favor with God but to change your earth attitude and to enlarge your soul's capacity for spirit receptivity.

"But when you pray, you exercise so little faith. Genuine faith will remove mountains of material difficulty which may chance to lie in the path of soul expansion and spiritual progress."

3. THE BELIEVER'S PRAYER

But the apostles were not yet satisfied; they desired Jesus to give them a model prayer which they could teach the new disciples. After listening to this discourse on prayer, James Zebedee said: "Very good, Master, but we do not desire a form of prayer for ourselves so much as for the newer believers who so frequently beseech us, `Teach us how acceptably to pray to the Father in heaven.'"

When James had finished speaking, Jesus said: "If, then, you still desire such a prayer, I would present the one which I taught my brothers and sisters in Nazareth":

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Page 1620
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Our Father who is in heaven,

Hallowed be your name.

Your kingdom come; your will be done

On earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our bread for tomorrow;

Refresh our souls with the water of life.

And forgive us every one our debts

As we also have forgiven our debtors.

Save us in temptation, deliver us from evil,

And increasingly make us perfect like yourself.

Jesus taught that effective prayer must be:

1. Unselfish--not alone for oneself.

2. Believing--according to faith.

3. Sincere--honest of heart.

4. Intelligent--according to light.

5. Trustful--in submission to the Father's all-wise will.

hearty warm ancient.

i hate it when i cant pop my neck, but it really feel like it should pop.

does everyone know the difference between sin and evil and iniquity??? i dont think so,.,...

dont make the mistake of taking a duality viewpoint on good and evil, because good and evil are not polar opposites. evil is not dehumanizing it is a natural endowment of a evolutionary will creature. what is good if there is no evil? where is will if there is only one will?

from the urantia book and the mouth of michael christ jesus:

"Evil is the unconscious or unintended transgression of the divine law, the Father's will. Evil is likewise the measure of the imperfectness of obedience to the Father's will."

"Sin is the conscious, knowing, and deliberate transgression of the divine law, the Father's will. Sin is the measure of unwillingness to be divinely led and spiritually directed."

"Iniquity is the willful, determined, and persistent transgression of the divine law, the Father's will. Iniquity is the measure of the continued rejection of the Father's loving plan of personality survival and the Sons' merciful ministry of salvation."

there ya go. now you dont have an excuse to misuse, be confused, or further confuse.

9:07 pm - brings to the world the glad tidings of day

urantian
i need to read the Urantia book alot to keep myself centered.....

i am in love with the spiritual truths that it presents so effortlessly,

here's the morontia mota---

and for those of you who have no idea what that is, i included excerpts from the book that explain what morontia and mota both are. enjoy!

if you dont want to read it all, read the actual mota at least-- its the numbered list that i will put below, and have the information that normally would precede it following it, for convenience, ok?

1. A display of specialized skill does not signify possession of spiritual capacity. Cleverness is not a substitute for true character.

2. Few persons live up to the faith which they really have. Unreasoned fear is a master intellectual fraud practiced upon the evolving mortal soul.

3. Inherent capacities cannot be exceeded; a pint can never hold a quart. The spirit concept cannot be mechanically forced into the material memory mold.

4. Few mortals ever dare to draw anything like the sum of personality credits established by the combined ministries of nature and grace. The majority of impoverished souls are truly rich, but they refuse to believe it.

5. Difficulties may challenge mediocrity and defeat the fearful, but they only stimulate the true children of the Most Highs.

6. To enjoy privilege without abuse, to have liberty without license, to possess power and steadfastly refuse to use it for self-aggrandizement--these are the marks of high civilization.

7. Blind and unforeseen accidents do not occur in the cosmos. Neither do the celestial beings assist the lower being who refuses to act upon his light of truth.

8. Effort does not always produce joy, but there is no happiness without intelligent effort.

9. Action achieves strength; moderation eventuates in charm.

10. Righteousness strikes the harmony chords of truth, and the melody vibrates throughout the cosmos, even to the recognition of the Infinite.

11. The weak indulge in resolutions, but the strong act. Life is but a day's work--do it well. The act is ours; the consequences God's.

12. The greatest affliction of the cosmos is never to have been afflicted. Mortals only learn wisdom by experiencing tribulation.

13. Stars are best discerned from the lonely isolation of experiential depths, not from the illuminated and ecstatic mountain tops.

14. Whet the appetites of your associates for truth; give advice only when it is asked for.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Page 557
------------------------------------------------------------------------
15. Affectation is the ridiculous effort of the ignorant to appear wise, the attempt of the barren soul to appear rich.

16. You cannot perceive spiritual truth until you feelingly experience it, and many truths are not really felt except in adversity.

17. Ambition is dangerous until it is fully socialized. You have not truly acquired any virtue until your acts make you worthy of it.

18. Impatience is a spirit poison; anger is like a stone hurled into a hornet's nest.

19. Anxiety must be abandoned. The disappointments hardest to bear are those which never come.

20. Only a poet can discern poetry in the commonplace prose of routine existence.

21. The high mission of any art is, by its illusions, to foreshadow a higher universe reality, to crystallize the emotions of time into the thought of eternity.

22. The evolving soul is not made divine by what it does, but by what it strives to do.

23. Death added nothing to the intellectual possession or to the spiritual endowment, but it did add to the experiential status the consciousness of survival.

24. The destiny of eternity is determined moment by moment by the achievements of the day by day living. The acts of today are the destiny of tomorrow.

25. Greatness lies not so much in possessing strength as in making a wise and divine use of such strength.

26. Knowledge is possessed only by sharing; it is safeguarded by wisdom and socialized by love.

27. Progress demands development of individuality; mediocrity seeks perpetuation in standardization.

28. The argumentative defense of any proposition is inversely proportional to the truth contained.

Such is the work of the beginners on the first mansion world while the more advanced pupils on the later worlds are mastering the higher levels of cosmic insight and morontia mota.

PAPER 48 - THE MORONTIA LIFE

The Gods cannot--at least they do not--transform a creature of gross animal nature into a perfected spirit by some mysterious act of creative magic. When the Creators desire to produce perfect beings, they do so by direct and original creation, but they never undertake to convert animal-origin and material creatures into beings of perfection in a single step.

The morontia life, extending as it does over the various stages of the local universe career, is the only possible approach whereby material mortals could attain the threshold of the spirit world. What magic could death, the natural dissolution of the material body, hold that such a simple step should instantly transform the mortal and material mind into an immortal and perfected spirit? Such beliefs are but ignorant superstitions and pleasing fables.

Always this morontia transition intervenes between the mortal estate and the subsequent spirit status of surviving human beings. This intermediate state of universe progress differs markedly in the various local creations, but in intent and purpose they are all quite similar. The arrangement of the mansion and higher morontia worlds in Nebadon is fairly typical of the morontia transition regimes in this part of Orvonton.

1. MORONTIA MATERIALS

The morontia realms are the local universe liaison spheres between the material and spiritual levels of creature existence. This morontia life has been known on Urantia since the early days of the Planetary Prince. From time to time this transition state has been taught to mortals, and the concept, in distorted form, has found a place in present-day religions.

The morontia spheres are the transition phases of mortal ascension through the progression worlds of the local universe. Only the seven worlds surrounding the finaliters' sphere of the local systems are called mansion worlds, but all fifty-six of the system transition abodes, in common with the higher spheres around the constellations and the universe headquarters, are called morontia worlds. These creations partake of the physical beauty and the morontia grandeur of the local universe headquarters spheres.

All of these worlds are architectural spheres, and they have just double the number of elements of the evolved planets. Such made-to-order worlds not only abound in the heavy metals and crystals, having one hundred physical elements, but likewise have exactly one hundred forms of a unique energy organization called morontia material. The Master Physical Controllers and the Morontia Power Supervisors are able so to modify the revolutions of the primary units
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Page 542
------------------------------------------------------------------------
of matter and at the same time so to transform these associations of energy as to create this new substance.

7. MORONTIA MOTA

The lower planes of morontia mota join directly with the higher levels of human philosophy. On the first mansion world it is the practice to teach the less advanced students by the parallel technique; that is, in one column are presented the more simple concepts of mota meanings, and in the opposite column citation is made of analogous statements of mortal philosophy.

Not long since, while executing an assignment on the first mansion world of Satania, I had occasion to observe this method of teaching; and though I may not undertake to present the mota content of the lesson, I am permitted to record the twenty-eight statements of human philosophy which this morontia instructor was utilizing as illustrative material designed to assist these new mansion world sojourners in their early efforts to grasp the significance and meaning of mota. These illustrations of human philosophy were:

(see list at top)

Such is the work of the beginners on the first mansion world while the more advanced pupils on the later worlds are mastering the higher levels of cosmic insight and morontia mota.

8. THE MORONTIA PROGRESSORS

From the time of graduation from the mansion worlds to the attainment of spirit status in the superuniverse career, ascending mortals are denominated morontia progressors. Your passage through this wonderful borderland life will be an unforgettable experience, a charming memory. It is the evolutionary portal to spirit life and the eventual attainment of creature perfection by which ascenders achieve the goal of time--the finding of God on Paradise.

There is a definite and divine purpose in all this morontia and subsequent spirit scheme of mortal progression, this elaborate universe training school for ascending creatures. It is the design of the Creators to afford the creatures of time a graduated opportunity to master the details of the operation and administration
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Page 558
------------------------------------------------------------------------
of the grand universe, and this long course of training is best carried forward by having the surviving mortal climb up gradually and by actual participation in every step of the ascent.

The mortal-survival plan has a practical and serviceable objective; you are not the recipients of all this divine labor and painstaking training only that you may survive just to enjoy endless bliss and eternal ease. There is a goal of transcendent service concealed beyond the horizon of the present universe age. If the Gods designed merely to take you on one long and eternal joy excursion, they certainly would not so largely turn the whole universe into one vast and intricate practical training school, requisition a substantial part of the celestial creation as teachers and instructors, and then spend ages upon ages piloting you, one by one, through this gigantic universe school of experiential training. The furtherance of the scheme of mortal progression seems to be one of the chief businesses of the present organized universe, and the majority of innumerable orders of created intelligences are either directly or indirectly engaged in advancing some phase of this progressive perfection plan.

In traversing the ascending scale of living existence from mortal man to the Deity embrace, you actually live the very life of every possible phase and stage of perfected creature existence within the limits of the present universe age. From mortal man to Paradise finaliter embraces all that now can be--encompasses everything presently possible to the living orders of intelligent, perfected finite creature beings. If the future destiny of the Paradise finaliters is service in new universes now in the making, it is assured that in this new and future creation there will be no created orders of experiential beings whose lives will be wholly different from those which mortal finaliters have lived on some world as a part of their ascending training, as one of the stages of their agelong progress from animal to angel and from angel to spirit and from spirit to God.

Mansion World

Once upon, and once up high, a dandy dreamed what means to die.
What things to come as life rolls by, the core of human equation.
Tetragram presents a sign, A sign to saviourize.
Turn around, I'd like to know you

Everywhere and every why, the answer lay beyond the sky
Pass through the seven satellites pass on to the place we go to.
Learn to read, to rhyme, to count your primes, an earthly education.
Climb the tree of life in hopes to find,
the mid-space time dilation.

On the Mansion World, the roles reverse, a slave becomes a master.
On the Mansion World the souls converse, and life moves a little faster.
We unify in universe to arrive in the everafter.
In the Mansion World, I might like to know you.

Now and then it comes to mind, I draw upon a long lost time
(so don't ask me why the angels don't cry 'cause you know what I've already told you).
Memories of Urantia girls, they race around my brain in swirls
(and you'll never ask me why the changes in the sky lead you upwards through the hole that you go through.)

So now you're off, you've done your time. Prepare for divine invasion. As the spirit binds morontia minds, ascend to the cosmic nation.

On the Mansion World, the roles reverse, a slave becomes a master.
On the Mansion World the souls converse, and life moves a little faster.
We unify in universe to arrive in the everafter.
In the Mansion World, I might like to know you.
New Urantia girl, everything's below you.

On the Mansion World, the roles reverse, a slave becomes a master.
On the Mansion World the souls converse, and life moves a little faster.
We unify in universe to arrive in the everafter.
In the Mansion World, I might like to know you.

Once upon, and once up high, a dandy dreamed what means to die.

What do you think? Pretty cool? ^_^

8:07 pm - EASTER

urantian
Ah yes.....Easter.

i read from the urantia book today...the terminology throws so many people off initially though....its the highest form of the english language that i have ever seen in my life. so its hard to sit and read about master physical controllers, creator sun, thought adjusters, superuniverse space levels, and the existential/experiential counterparts of the infinite mother and father....and all that business.
i read about the physical resurrection (what really happened....since the bible is merely a political man-made social construct that should never be taken too seriously in most parts...) there are so many misconceptions due to the erroneous teachings or interpretations of the bible on this planet, its incredible. like the fact that they 'left out' so many important parts of the bible....the teachings of the mother, who is not only the equal counterpart of god the father, but is also 'one' with him...they are the merged constituents of ultimate deity, one 'being' (although being isn’t the correct word...) our finite minds have trouble thinking of these two supposedly separate parts as in actuality, one. but they are. and the perfect deity fragment that resides in each ascending will creature also holds the mother spirit.
the bible also calls Mary Magdalene a repentant prostitute....which is totally false- she was a beautiful, intelligent noble woman and a very close companion of Jesus. the bible not only omits all positive portrayals of the female counterpart to deity, but it actually has perverse teachings that openly denounce women as an important part of the existence of the world. ha......

also, the bible's story of the resurrection has man false statements. including that Jesus was resurrected in the flesh. the stone was NOT rolled away, Jesus was resurrected in morontia form, which is neither physical, not wholly spiritual. the roman guards and the seal of Pilate was still intact. the actual disappearance of the human body of Michael of Nebadon (creator and sovereign son of our local universe, nebadon following his final bestowal on our planet, urantia as Jesus of Nazareth) occurred after his morontia resurrection. The spirit personalities stationed on the planet at the time saw to it that the physical remains of the personality of Jesus were not subject to a slow, decomposing demise. instead they took the body and had the dispensation of it in a few seconds- like 50 years of decomposing in 3 seconds, basically. anyway, that is more factual evidence that sheds light onto the bible's very human interpretation. What the Urantia book reveals as sheer truth, is never open to speculation. merely b/c it was recorded perfectly by the assisting cherubim and midwayers in association with the apostle Andrew throughout his and Jesus’ entire life...360 degree angle, 24 hour, constant recording of factual events. the life and teachings of Jesus as revealed in the Urantia Book are truths in essence, and also beautiful, real stories of our universe bestowal son- who chose the MOST fucked up planet in the realms at the time (us after the Lucifer and caligastia rebellion so long ago in the times of the planetary prince) to set the stage of his final bestowal as a will creature....b/c he loves us so much. and furthermore, the death on the cross was not at all planned out as a part of the bestowal- all that Michael was required to do was bestow himself as a will creature in the flesh through birth and death. the manner in which he died is not important- except in the case of his death on Urantia. Let it be clear that God is not a stern monarch who chose for his son to die on the cross...this was MAN's doing. Jesus could have stopped it at anytime, he could have shut off his human senses and pain receptors at the time of his painful death, but he didn't. and to his enemies as they nailed him to the cross, Jesus exclaimed 'forgive them father, for they know not what they do."

WHAT A FUCKING BADASS!!!!! i love Michael,. i would kiss him right now if i could. i can kiss myself, and im technically kissing him.... he knows!
oh silly Michael-head! you were great as Jesus man, we love you!
in conclusion, i believe i will paste the papers from the Urantia Book on the lessons from the cross, and the true meaning of the death on the cross.....it too needs to be clarified in truth, due to the misconceptions that the bible often brings to people concerning the manner of Jesus’ death.
------------------

4. MEANING OF THE DEATH ON THE CROSS
Although Jesus did not die this death on the cross to atone for the racial guilt of mortal man nor to provide some sort of effective approach to an otherwise offended and unforgiving God; even though the Son of Man did not offer himself as a sacrifice to appease the wrath of God and to open the way for sinful man to obtain salvation; notwithstanding that these ideas of atonement and propitiation are erroneous, nonetheless, there are significances attached to this death of Jesus on the cross which should not be overlooked. It is a fact that Urantia has become known among other neighboring inhabited planets as the "World of the Cross."
Jesus desired to live a full mortal life in the flesh on Urantia. Death is, ordinarily, a part of life. Death is the last act in the mortal drama. In your well-meant efforts to escape the superstitious errors of the false interpretation of the meaning of the death on the cross, you should be careful not to make the great mistake of failing to perceive the true significance and the genuine import of the Master's death.
Mortal man was never the property of the archdeceivers. Jesus did not die to ransom man from the clutch of the apostate rulers and fallen princes of the spheres. The Father in heaven never conceived of such crass injustice as damning a mortal soul because of the evildoing of his ancestors. Neither was the Master's death on the cross a sacrifice which consisted in an effort to pay God a debt which the race of mankind had come to owe him.
Before Jesus lived on earth, you might possibly have been justified in believing in such a God, but not since the Master lived and died among your fellow mortals. Moses taught the dignity and justice of a Creator God; but Jesus portrayed the love and mercy of a heavenly Father.
The animal nature--the tendency toward evildoing--may be hereditary, but sin is not transmitted from parent to child. Sin is the act of conscious and deliberate rebellion against the Father's will and the Sons' laws by an individual will creature.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Page 2017
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jesus lived and died for a whole universe, not just for the races of this one world. While the mortals of the realms had salvation even before Jesus lived and died on Urantia, it is nevertheless a fact that his bestowal on this world greatly illuminated the way of salvation; his death did much to make forever plain the certainty of mortal survival after death in the flesh.
Though it is hardly proper to speak of Jesus as a sacrificer, a ransomer, or a redeemer, it is wholly correct to refer to him as a savior. He forever made the way of salvation (survival) more clear and certain; he did better and more surely show the way of salvation for all the mortals of all the worlds of the universe of Nebadon.
When once you grasp the idea of God as a true and loving Father, the only concept which Jesus ever taught, you must forthwith, in all consistency, utterly abandon all those primitive notions about God as an offended monarch, a stern and all-powerful ruler whose chief delight is to detect his subjects in wrongdoing and to see that they are adequately punished, unless some being almost equal to himself should volunteer to suffer for them, to die as a substitute and in their stead. The whole idea of ransom and atonement is incompatible with the concept of God as it was taught and exemplified by Jesus of Nazareth. The infinite love of God is not secondary to anything in the divine nature.
All this concept of atonement and sacrificial salvation is rooted and grounded in selfishness. Jesus taught that service to one's fellows is the highest concept of the brotherhood of spirit believers. Salvation should be taken for granted by those who believe in the fatherhood of God. The believer's chief concern should not be the selfish desire for personal salvation but rather the unselfish urge to love and, therefore, serve one's fellows even as Jesus loved and served mortal men.
Neither do genuine believers trouble themselves so much about the future punishment of sin. The real believer is only concerned about present separation from God. True, wise fathers may chasten their sons, but they do all this in love and for corrective purposes. They do not punish in anger, neither do they chastise in retribution.
Even if God were the stern and legal monarch of a universe in which justice ruled supreme, he certainly would not be satisfied with the childish scheme of substituting an innocent sufferer for a guilty offender.
The great thing about the death of Jesus, as it is related to the enrichment of human experience and the enlargement of the way of salvation, is not the fact of his death but rather the superb manner and the matchless spirit in which he met death.
This entire idea of the ransom of the atonement places salvation upon a plane of unreality; such a concept is purely philosophic. Human salvation is real; it is based on two realities which may be grasped by the creature's faith and thereby become incorporated into individual human experience: the fact of the fatherhood of God and its correlated truth, the brotherhood of man. It is true, after all, that you are to be "forgiven your
debts, even as you forgive your debtors."

5. LESSONS FROM THE CROSS
The cross of Jesus portrays the full measure of the supreme devotion of the true shepherd for even the unworthy members of his flock. It forever places
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Page 2018
------------------------------------------------------------------------
all relations between God and man upon the family basis. God is the Father; man is his son. Love, the love of a father for his son, becomes the central truth in the universe relations of Creator and creature--not the justice of a king which seeks satisfaction in the sufferings and punishment of the evil-doing subject.
The cross forever shows that the attitude of Jesus toward sinners was neither condemnation nor condonation, but rather eternal and loving salvation. Jesus is truly a savior in the sense that his life and death do win men over to goodness and righteous survival. Jesus loves men so much that his love awakens the response of love in the human heart. Love is truly contagious and eternally creative. Jesus' death on the cross exemplifies a love which is sufficiently strong and divine to forgive sin and swallow up all evil-doing. Jesus disclosed to this world a higher quality of righteousness than justice--mere technical right and wrong. Divine love does not merely forgive wrongs; it absorbs and actually destroys them. The forgiveness of love utterly transcends the forgiveness of mercy. Mercy sets the guilt of evil-doing to one side; but love destroys forever the sin and all weakness resulting therefrom. Jesus brought a new method of living to Urantia. He taught us not to resist evil but to find through him a goodness which effectually destroys evil. The forgiveness of Jesus is not condonation; it is salvation from condemnation. Salvation does not slight wrongs; it makes them right. True love does not compromise nor condone hate; it destroys it. The love of Jesus is never satisfied with mere forgiveness. The Master's love implies rehabilitation, eternal survival. It is altogether proper to speak of salvation as redemption if you mean this eternal rehabilitation.
Jesus, by the power of his personal love for men, could break the hold of sin and evil. He thereby set men free to choose better ways of living. Jesus portrayed a deliverance from the past which in itself promised a triumph for the future. Forgiveness thus provided salvation. The beauty of divine love, once fully admitted to the human heart, forever destroys the charm of sin and the power of evil.
The sufferings of Jesus were not confined to the crucifixion. In reality, Jesus of Nazareth spent upward of twenty-five years on the cross of a real and intense mortal existence. The real value of the cross consists in the fact that it was the supreme and final expression of his love, the completed revelation of his mercy.
On millions of inhabited worlds, tens of trillions of evolving creatures who may have been tempted to give up the moral struggle and abandon the good fight of faith, have taken one more look at Jesus on the cross and then have forged on ahead, inspired by the sight of God's laying down his incarnate life in devotion to the unselfish service of man.
The triumph of the death on the cross is all summed up in the spirit of Jesus' attitude toward those who assailed him. He made the cross an eternal symbol of the triumph of love over hate and the victory of truth over evil when he prayed, "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do." That devotion of love was contagious throughout a vast universe; the disciples caught it from their Master. The very first teacher of his gospel who was called upon to lay down his life in this service, said, as they stoned him to death, "Lay not this sin to their charge."
The cross makes a supreme appeal to the best in man because it discloses one who was willing to lay down his life in the service of his fellow men. Greater

love no man can have than this: that he would be willing to lay down his life for his friends--and Jesus had such a love that he was willing to lay down his life for his enemies, a love greater than any which had hitherto been known on earth.
On other worlds, as well as on Urantia, this sublime spectacle of the death of the human Jesus on the cross of Golgotha has stirred the emotions of mortals, while it has aroused the highest devotion of the angels.
The cross is that high symbol of sacred service, the devotion of one's life to the welfare and salvation of one's fellows. The cross is not the symbol of the sacrifice of the innocent Son of God in the place of guilty sinners and in order to appease the wrath of an offended God, but it does stand forever, on earth and throughout a vast universe, as a sacred symbol of the good bestowing themselves upon the evil and thereby saving them by this very devotion of love. The cross does stand as the token of the highest form of unselfish service, the supreme devotion of the full bestowal of a righteous life in the service of wholehearted ministry, even in death, the death of the cross. And the very sight of this great symbol of the bestowal life of Jesus truly inspires all of us to want to go and do likewise.
When thinking men and women look upon Jesus as he offers up his life on the cross, they will hardly again permit themselves to complain at even the severest hardships of life, much less at petty harassments and their many purely fictitious grievances. His life was so glorious and his death so triumphant that we are all enticed to a willingness to share both. There is true drawing power in the whole bestowal of Michael, from the days of his youth to this overwhelming spectacle of his death on the cross.
Make sure, then, that when you view the cross as a revelation of God, you do not look with the eyes of the primitive man nor with the viewpoint of the later barbarian, both of whom regarded God as a relentless Sovereign of stern justice and rigid law-enforcement. Rather, make sure that you see in the cross the final manifestation of the love and devotion of Jesus to his life mission of bestowal upon the mortal races of his vast universe. See in the death of the Son of Man the climax of the unfolding of the Father's divine love for his sons of the mortal spheres. The cross thus portrays the devotion of willing affection and the bestowal of voluntary salvation upon those who are willing to receive such gifts and devotion. There was nothing in the cross which the Father required--only that which Jesus so willingly gave, and which he refused to avoid.
If man cannot otherwise appreciate Jesus and understand the meaning of his bestowal on earth, he can at least comprehend the fellowship of his mortal sufferings. No man can ever fear that the Creator does not know the nature or extent of his temporal afflictions.
We know that the death on the cross was not to effect man's reconciliation to God but to stimulate man's realization of the Father's eternal love and his Son's unending mercy, and to broadcast these universal truths to a whole universe.

and thats alot of reading....but at least its truth, each person does what they want with it.
my favorite lines out of all this, that really bring it together...and what this all REALLY means....:

"Jesus brought a new method of living to Urantia. The Master's love implies rehabilitation, eternal survival."

"This entire idea of the ransom of the atonement places salvation upon a plane of unreality; such a concept is purely philosophic. Human salvation is real; it is based on two realities which may be grasped by the creature's faith and thereby become incorporated into individual human experience: the fact of the fatherhood of God and its correlated truth, the brotherhood of man. "
we are all brothers and sisters!!! this is true if you believe in the fatherhood of god. so treat each other like you are!!!

I'm not sure what to say. I can't say that I know very much about Urantia, but I want nothing more than to learn more about it. I plan on getting the book this weekend.

Why am I here? Ever since the first words that I read about the beliefs of Urantia I have been stuck. My mind seems to embrace it without question. I've gone from multiple Christian religions, never finding anything that didn't make me look at my personal beliefs in disdain. Everything I know so far rings as truth in my head. I can't help it. I never thought I would feel this way about anything even remotly religious. All I can say is that I'm happy that I feel the way I do now.

I think Urantia embodies all my beliefs, at least with what I know so far. I feel like this would be my one true belief. I know I have much to learn, but I can't imagine anything making me turn back now. For this I thank my best friend for having me find what Urantia meant because it was used in a Deadsy song. That may end up being the best word I've ever looked up.

I know a moderate amount about Urantia, and I don't have the book yet (it's on order), but I think I can rightfully say that I'm Urantian. I'm praying and believing in God for what seems like the first time in my life, and it's because I found out about Urantia. It appealed to me because of a lot of the philosophies and attitudes I've read about. I don't think I've ever seen another religion that believes all religions have a purpose, and that they all help bring us closer to the same divine.

My Urantian history began as a confused Deadsy fan, and it wasn't listed in any dictionary I read, so I made my best friend look it up online. He's joining as we speak...

I have a Urantia symbol drawn on my arm.

I still like Deadsy a lot.

about two or three years ago i stumbled upon the book of urantia at my local bookstore, which i bought. i read the first few pages, then figured it was nothing more that scientology-esqe hogwash, and put it in my bookshelf (the one where all my "religious" books are, the bible, the satanic bible, the korran, the kabbalah, a bunch of Zechariah Stitchin books and now this one)

anyway, i'm reading through it now that i am older, and probably wiser, and i am finding it quite interesting.

now here comes the fun, interactive part. I want you all to convince me that it isnt scientology-esque hogwash. In the mean time, i will go back to reading about the local universes and whatnot...

Spent most of the day playing around with the pictures and doing some cropping of the images. Caught two of the little squirrels and took them to a forest about a mile away. Trapped one by throwing a beach towel over it as it made for the hall door. The other I chased down in the kitchen and caught it while donning a heavy pair of leather gardening gloves. Little rascal still bit the daylights out of me before I got a good grip on its head!
Jaen has been extremely sick since we returned from the journey. The long drive and too much walking has caused both her nausea and level of pain to go sky high. I have been trying to keep her comfortable and getting her to rest and sleep as much as possible. Hopefully in a little while, it will begin to cycled down again.
The weather down here has been extremely beautiful with deep blue skies, the temperature warm during the day and chilly enough for a fire in the evening. As I look out the window, I can see the earth spirits preparing the forest for the coming of winter, hints here and there of the million hues of the autumn leaves. Then my imagination wanders into the thoughts of just how beautiful autumn must be in the mountains of Lena'pehoking.

cobain_x_mortis Hi sorry if this is cross posted but I finally got an intefaith group started here and I figured the members of these communities would be interested. It's a forum to discuss your religion/beliefs, ask questions about others and basically come in to break stereotypes about your religion. Anyone is welcome even if you don't have a specific religion, you can just come in and ask questions about others.
Come check it out

cobain_x_mortis Hi, I'm new and I am very glad I found this community because I've been interested in Urantia for a long long time and could never find any info on it so hopefully thisshould enlighten me.
Quick intro- my nameis Nirvana Nothing, I'm a Pagan but I study all religions and they all fascinate me. Urantia has been a mystery to me for a long time and I would love to hear some about it. I may not comment or post often because of the fact that I know next to nothing about the subject but I may ask questions here and there or just check out some of your ideas if that's okay.

Okay, I recieved your message and then read your enthusiasm as you described the book. There are lots of things that you need to know before you begin.

First off: The Urantia Community is facing schisms on many different levels. There are those (among whom I am one) who distrust the Urantia Foundation especially after several recent lawsuits over copyright. This situation came to a head this summer when the UF filed suit against Harry Mcmullan for his publishing of Jesus: A New Revelation (usually called JANR). JANR is simply the fourth part of the UBook, not a word missing. Well the UF believes tat they had sole copyright over the Urantia Book. I have lost track of how the case turned out but to have a full account, the website www.ubron.org is a dynamic mail server with hundreds of members discussing the Urantia Book.

Part 2: The dangers in the Urantia Book are many, especially on the internet. A man named Robert Burgess calls himself Caligastia Lanonandek (the Planetary Prince of Urantia) and runs a website called www.planetaryhq.com While I don't agree with his viewpoints (and belief that he is the PP), I also don't agree with the attacks that many in the Urantia community have wrought on him.

Part 3: There is dispute over the legitimate authorship of the Urantia Book. The following is an email from the man mentioned above describing his opinion of UB authorship. But before I go to the text cut, feel free to ask me any questions you like.

The text formatting is my own...Collapse )

4:29 am - Passages from Part I, Paper 1: "The Universal Father"

smithbrad
I found these passages to be particularly enightening and inspirational...

God-knowing creatures have only one supreme ambition, just one consuming desire, and that is to become, as they are in their spheres, like him as he is in his Paradise perfection of personality and in his universal sphere of righteous supremacy. From the Universal Father who inhabits eternity there has gone forth the supreme mandate, "Be you perfect, even as I am perfect."

* * *

This magnificent and universal injunction to strive for the attainment of the perfection of divinity is the first duty, and should be the highest ambition, of all the struggling creature creation of the God of perfection. This possibility of the attainment of divine perfection is the final and certain destiny of all man's eternal spiritual progress.

* * *

This sublime search for the God of universes is the supreme adventure of the inhabitants of all the worlds of time and space.

* * *

In God, man lives, moves, and has his being; there is nothing which man can give to God except this choosing to abide by the Father's will, and such decisions, effected by the intelligent will creatures of the universes, constitute the reality of that true worship which is so satisfying to the love-dominated nature of the Creator Father.

When you have once become truly God-conscious, after you really discover the majestic Creator and begin to experience the realization of the indwelling presence of the divine controller, then, in accordance with your enlightenment and in accordance with the manner and method by which the divine Sons reveal God, you will find a name for the Universal Father which will be adequately expressive of your concept of the First Great Source and Center.

* * *

Those who know God through the revelations of the bestowals of the Paradise Sons, eventually yield to the sentimental appeal of the touching relationship of the creature-Creator association and refer to God as "our Father."

* * *

The name he is given is of little importance; the significant thing is that you should know him and aspire to be like him.

* * *

The existence of God is utterly beyond all possibility of demonstration except for the contact between the God-consciousness of the human mind and the God-presence of the Thought Adjuster that indwells the mortal intellect and is bestowed upon man as the free gift of the Universal Father.

In theory you may think of God as the Creator, and he is the personal creator of Paradise and the central universe of perfection, but the universes of time and space are all created and organized by the Paradise corps of the Creator Sons. The Universal Father is not the personal creator of the local universe of Nebadon; the universe in which you live is the creation of his Son Michael.
